The story of the Grange dates back over 1000 years, to the 8th Century when King Offa granted the land to Evesham Abbey.
The Grange was built for use as a hall house – a medieval communal building with an open hall at its centre where meals and the monks’ daily activities took place.
Over the centuries, it has served as a working farm, a private residence, and a venue for theatre and performance.
Today, we’re working with architects to breathe creative life back into the building, honouring its history whilst reimagining it with the needs of the performance industries in mind.

We are at the cusp of an extraordinary transformation into somewhere creativity is inevitable. Using what we have, what we know, and what we owe to an industry in crisis, we’re creating a world-class residential centre for creative practitioners.
At a time when collaborative spaces are disappearing, and remote work and AI are reshaping the industry, the future of ground-breaking performance depends on places to come together for risk-taking, exploration, experimentation and play, available to everybody.
The restoration of the Grange is our answer to that need, an investment in the future of live performance, and a promise to the world that creative joy, inspiration and alchemy (the key ingredients for innovation) will always have a home here.

Our Board consists of some of the finest practitioners in their fields, brought together by a shared belief in the enduring worth of creativity and the Arts.
